About me
My name is Sonata Kvedaravičiūtė. I was born in the small village in Northerns Lithuania, a few years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. I belong to the first generation of children born in independent Lithuania — yet my siblings, though born in the same place, were born in different countries.
Growing up in a village where life was deeply intertwined with nature, I was surrounded by hardworking people who taught me the value of labor, the joy of harvesting one’s own produce, and the harmony of living in rhythm with the seasons. Witnessing the changing landscapes and the influence of natural phenomena, I came to understand how profoundly our lives are shaped by the natural world, no matter how much we try to control it.
From an early age, I learned humility and respect for nature — a perspective that has guided much of my life and career. This curiosity and appreciation for natural systems led me to pursue a PhD in Computational Chemistry, where I explored and developed the fundamental processes of light - biomolecular systems through computational modeling, precisely QM/MM methods.
Having successfully completed my PhD, I now work as a Software Developer and Researcher at a computer vision software development company, where I combine my scientific background with my passion for technology. I am driven by the same motivation that guided me since childhood — to better understand complex systems, whether they are found in nature or in the digital world, and to turn that understanding into practical, meaningful innovations.
